Thanks, Leo, that makes sense. I have a "Clasic Medieval Dagger" from A & A I want to make a sheath or scabbard for and I'm looking for some evidence that it was hung from a belt. The attachments show what I have. Carrying it through the belt loops of a purse or wedged behind a belt are both historical and efficient but I was hoping to carry it hung from a belt. And the "cut-outs" for the cross would allow the weapon to lie lower to help reduce some of the dagger's top -heaviness.
