All this talk of Vendel stuff has reminded me to tell people that if they visit northern France, if they get a chance, go and see the recreated Merongian village in Marle. The town itself is lovely, it has its own museum and is also close to some important WW1 battle sites.
There will be a special festival there at the end of June with reenactors from different periods.

The event was a fantastic success with 10,500 visitors in two days and many reenactors, including a whole century of Imperial Romans, another of late Romans and at least a few myArmoury members.
