I'm not sure that my question fits in this forum, because the historical "arms" under discussion is much, much bigger than the sort usually discussed her, but anyway....

What was the actual shape of a galleass's forecastle? Was it supposed to be circular? Quadrangular? Or rounded in front and squared off in the rear? Or were all these shapes used, and if so could they be used to distinguish the place or time of a galleass's construction by the difference in shape?

And finally, I think I'm having a bit of deja vu, so: have I asked this question before?
