Not sure how accurate it is, but at that price it's awfully tempting! I'm considering getting one just to mess around with and perhaps use for an archer impression.

Is the ren faire a LARP or fancy dress event, then? No medieval archer ever dressed like that.

The same caveat applies to those as to the rest of the costume; fine for fantasy/LARP, but there's nothing really historical about them. If what you're deliberately trying to put together a fantasy costume and you like the look of the shoes on that site then that's fine, but if what you want is something at least somewhat historically accurate then those aren't the shoes for you.
To my fairly well-trained eye they don't look all that well made for the price and none of the shoes that site has are really "historical" in any sense. A couple of them look like the person who designed them has seen some pictures of medieval shoes but that's about it.
I think you would be far far better off with a pair from revival.us:

I know several people who have these and are very happy with them. You would struggle to make a pair fo what you'd pay for these.

Having seen (an admittedly limited) sample of both types, I prefere the revival.us ones. The revival clothing pair I saw had some very serious flaws, but that was only one pair so it might have been an abberation.

It depends a lot on how much time you have, what you want, and whether you know anything about working with leather already.
Anyone can make half-decent shoes but it's a matter of time and practice, and the practice can end up costing quite a bit in materials. Unless you've already got the tools and materials on hand I think you would struggle to make a pair for less than the cost of buying a pair like the ones above.
The shoes above have the added advantage that if you decide to put together a more historically accurate outfit later they will work for that too.
I have a pair of the revival.us ones and they fit well. Remember to roughen up the soles some, just like with dress shoes or cowboy boots. I almost took a three story slide down a castle stairwell in Austria when I hit a slick patch in the morning (it was October and cold..might have even been ice for all I know, it was pitch black) when i forgot about that.
Five minutes of hard scuffing on some flagstones fixed that more or less and they don't slide so much anymore. But you do have to remember walking on the balls of your feet helps. :)

I have a pair of revival clothing shoes and they are horibble!!!! the buckles broke the 2nd time I wore them (the first time I only wore them for 15min.) the 5th time the sole fell off. Not to mention they were rude on the phone.I ordered 3 things seperatly looked and found out they had a special deal for the three called them back literally 5 min. later and i did not get the deal :mad: a friend of mine has revival U.S. shoes and they are very well made. boots are hard to make but if you get a cheap pair of cowboy boots cut off the top and glue on a suede "roll-down" they look great as fantasy boots and are 20$
