I looked in the Marketplace Forum, but wasn't sure whether this fit there or not. To try and be safe, I'm putting it here.

I am looking at doing a small film with my brother who is a Drama major in college. We are looking for suppliers of swords and armour located in the US that, while they would need to be sturdy to stand up to film battles, they are very reasonably priced.

I know that you usually get what you pay for and the more expensive models are usually better (not always, but in general). But we are on a very tight budget and cannot afford high end "bangers".

If there are any businesses that produce aluminum or steel swords for film or stage that you know of, please list them so I can check our their prices and styles.

Any additional comments are appreciated.

Thanks!

depending on your budget you could also look at renting, there are a few places out there that all they do is rent swords and armor, for film productions relatively cheaply, i know that Arms and Armor has been known to occasionally rent out weapons for theatrical productions, you could give them a call. not sure of what costs may be, but you get a quality product for use in your film, most likely without the costs of a new piece, unless you break it of course.
