David White has related that Don Rice passed yesterday evening.

Some that are familiar with Don may not get by SFI anymore, hence my mentioning it here. Whatever annexing and alienation may have gone on, I know some of the old crowd is here.

Cheers

I did not know him but our community is small so the passing of anyone makes it a bit smaller. It is sad news and likewise my thoughts and prayers are with the family.

It is indeed a sad day when a fellow forumite passes on.

In fact, I remember the moment I learned good ol' Don Nelson passed on almost as if it were yesterday. I still have a few of his PM's in my SFI inbox, as I haven't had the heart to delete them.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Rice's family.

Rhaegar fought honorably.
And Rhaegar died."

I have to agree with Randall as I also didn't know him but I also feel sadness for the loss of a kindred soul and Randall said it very well.

We received some further information on the service, etc.

I regret to inform all of the passing of Don Rice on April 22. His wife specifically requested the presence of any members of the Sword Forum community who may be in a position to attend the funeral services which are scheduled for Sunday, 27th April at 2:30PM. His Sword Forum friends and colleagues are invited to say a few appropriate words at the service. For more information, driving directions, etc., please contact:
