Hello -
I am looking for an 8th Century BC Assyrian infantry helmet.
If you are able to reproduce historically authentic helmets, please contact me.
If you know of someone who is a good fabricator, please send me their contact information.
THANK YOU.
The specific helmet I am trying to have someone make for me (since no one seems to be reenacting Assyrians for some reason!) is from the Seige of Lachish, Judah in 701 BC. There are quite a few examples of this in the Lachish Relief in the British Museum for an armor maker to refer to. I can send pics of these to you. There are also color illustrations in Osprey's Men-at-Arms "The Ancient Assyrians." The helmet is conical in shape, iron with brass (bronze) details. It has cheek guard attached with metal rings.
I am a Roman reenactor looking to branch out in a new direction - I'm casting a wide net, hoping that someone here will be able to help.
Thank you.
