Historical Funnies
I've got no idea if this thread will work, but I really hope it does.

myArmoury has an absolutely vast store of knowledge due to the multitude of members here. We've got swordmakers, sword historians, sword fighters, sword owners, and everything else. I thought it would be an interesting idea to see if we can't harness this knowledge for a more humorous approach to the study of history.

Basically what I'm asking the myArmoury community for would be ANYTHING in history you find intertaining, something that would get a chuckle out of anyone regardless of their appreciation for history. Preferably fact, but I guess theories or unconfirmed information is just as good.

The goal here is to get a few good laughs while still learning :)

Have fun! I'm really interested to see where this will go!
I have moved this topic to the Off-topic Talk forum.

Thank you.
Eep, terribly sorry about that Chad.

I completely forgot that!

Not excactly the most historical source, but the story is true, of course. I think we all know that one.
I recommend getting a translation of the biography of William Marshal. He lived an interesting life, mostly among households that did not wholly welcome him. Humorous anecdotes (tales of tournament mishaps, etc.) run pretty well through his chronicle, and were one of his primary tools of diffusing tensions within the various settings throughout his life.
