Trying to find a Dirk maker
Perusing through the internet I once ran across a knife maker from Tennessee who made some really nice dirks and sgians for really reasonable prices. I remember a post someone put up here about a custom dirk he made for this forumite. I just cannot remember the guys name! Anyone jog my memory? Anyone have the website? Thanks in advance.

Dirks
I think you are referencing Mike MacRae of Scotia Metalworks in Charlotte, NC. I happen to live in Tennessee and Mike has made seceral nice reprodictions of historic dirks for me and that may be the point of confusion. Mike has made reproductions of Lord Robert Balmarino's dirk and a very nice reproduction of a very early circa 1700 dirk the original of which was proudly displayed on this Forum about a year or so ago. I understand that Vince Evans may be making a copy of that dirk for the owner of the original. Back to Mike: he is a gentleman and a fine fellow to work with. Although he mostly makes dirks for sale at Highland games to less than the cognocenti, if asked, he can reproduce just about anything and his work from the artisian level gets better and better. Plus, his prices are very reasonable. In my humble opinion, the three best dirk makes in the States right now are Vince Evans of Washington State / Hawaii, Glenn McClain of Indiana, and Mike MacRae. Take a look at Mike's website: www.scotiametalwork.com.
There's also Richard Mize of Fox Creek Forge: http://www.foxcreekforge.com/
Thanks Chad!
