other axes project
I saw some axes project on this site(Eric mcHugh and Toni R.) and i was wondering if there is other members who did other axes projects and some link because i didn't find anything about the axes projects of other members.

Thanks anyway
Hi Etienne,

I started an axe along the same lines as Toni R. However it got sidelined in order to finish a couple of other projects. When I eventually get around to finishing it I'll post a couple of images.

Nick.
Etienne, are you planning on creating an axe? If you are and have almost none of the equipment to make a proper one I might have an idea for you.

It doesn't look too pretty (at all) However it yields a surprisingly effective axe for little to no cost and time.
show me!
As I find one of my pictures I'll describe the process and what you need.

Materials: a piece of flat bar (substitutes - flattened metal tubing; copper works well), a piece of sheet steel (recommended 16 ga), A wooden haft, bolts, washers, lock washers. (substitute - steel rivets) Not pop rivets.

Tools: Snips capable of cutting your chosen steel or a cold metal chisel, securely mounted vice, hammer, power drill/drill press, vicegrips

1. The flat bar is used to form the socket of the axe, you need to measure the circumferance of the haft and add a bit more space so you can attach it the the blade. Mark the extra space off on either side

2. After cutting the piece to size mark out your axe head on the sheet steel with a scribe or sharpie(marker) cut the piece out with your chisel or snips.

Sorry to cut this short, I have to go to work. I'll continue this when I get back

I'm back now.

I was just thinking, send me a PM and I'll just type the details over to you if you like. I can also attach some pictures
