I've heard that quilted armour was hardened by dipping them in wine or brine, and appearantly the Aztecs also dipped their padded cotton armour in brine. Has anyone tried this with fabric armour? Does it make a differance?

In this topic you have plenty of information about greek linothorax. Also, you can find info about dipping this kind of fabric armour in brine.
