The seller had it listed earlier as $395 "buy-it-now", but that option is no longer available with this new listing.

ACK! Don't outbid me! :)

Lol, lucky thing Bill I've already got one... :)

A hearty congratulations to Bill Grandy on scoring this piece!

There's a Hrisoulas sword available on ebay. Just do a search on "Hrisoulas." Current price 800 dollars.
17th century mortuary. Drool.

Come on, Bill Goodwin. You know you want to buy it and invite me over to play with it. :)
If I had the money, I'd snatch this up in a heartbeat. Instead, I'm hoping someone here will take advantage of this awesome deal and post better pictures.

It's an A&A French rapier, but it has piercework on the fuller, and the bluing has some sort of decoration that appears to be brass inlay.

Oh wow. That is awesome. Too bad I'm left handed. Seller also doesn't offer insurance during shipping to the buyer.

Note that the seller is in Australia, and the shipping price is in Australia, only. However, the listing states "Contact seller for international and insured postage rates". That A&A rapier looks like a potentially really good deal.

Cheers,

Bill

Scottish Basket Hilt Broad Sword Solingen Claymore

Basket hilted Scottish broad sword. Brass basket appears to have been gold plated at one time(about 40% remaining) and there is a nicely done thistle engraved onto it's front. Blade is 32 1/2 inches long and is marked IN SOLINGEN on one side and ABRAHAM STAMM on the other. It is 1 1/2 inches wide at its base. Blade has no dings or bends and does not appear to have been shortened. Basket is lined with white leather sewed together from many pieces. It is faced with a red cloth. The grip is shark skin wrapped and is bound with multi strand copper wire.

What is this??????

What do you all think this really is? I pretty sure it's not even close to the 15th century as the auction says.

I had the same thought, but am not knowledgeable enough to say. It doesn't look new. Perhaps a 19th century reproduction?
Fans of East African weapons? Check out this Kaskara, with a blade that looks an awful lot like a type X....
