The shirt labelled as C455 in that post has rings that are about 1.5mm thick on average with an OD of 11-12mm. That would put the ID around 9.5-10.5mm, and it says these individual rings weighed around .30g on average.

Only if the cross-section is circular. Were these links only flattened at the lapped area or on the entire link?

I am using a rough average again. It actually gives values for riveted rings and solid rings. The riveted rings have an oval shape with the 1.5mm thickness measured in the radial direction and .7-.8mm thickness in height. So the ID would still be around 9.5-10.5mm, but a link with a truly round section of 1.5mm would be heavier. The solid rings vary alot from around 2mmx1mm down to around 1mmx1mm. The average weight listed was .32g.

So I guess to answer your question, there was at least a slight flattening across the whole ring. Or at least they were not a true round cross section.
Thank you!
Thank you guys! That's very helpful!
