And check out this one. Yeah, if it were in your place I'd probably just remove the top lame and install a lining. The lining rivets give the piece a finished look, no matter its height. Only you can judge whether the reduced bevor would still look reasonable, but remember that you can't really use it at all as it is, and anything you do can be undone.

Yeah, both of those bevors look very good, the bottom one would work well aswell, what with my helmet having a longer tail and quite a deep visor, would probarbly fit quite nicely :D

The manufacturer says theyre sorry the sizing is incorrect and that it doesnt fit, they wont have any in for ages.
