I know I've seen heater shaped buckler sized shields before and I'm looking for info on them as I intend to make one.
The shield is for a late 14th century Holy Roman Empire kit.
I've looked through threads and sites on shield construction, and I'm simply looking for info specific to the construction of this shield.

Things I'd like to know:
1. What kind of dimensions are typical? Are the height and width roughly the same? Any tricks for getting the shape even and good looking?
2. What kind of strapping arrangement and method of attaching the straps is appropriate?
3. Was their use similar to that of the buckler like in I.33?

I'd love more pictures :-9

Thanks.
