I recently purchased a reproduction Scottish targe off eBay. Overall, I am very pleased with it, but the boss appears to be a soft white metal (aluminum, maybe?) plated with brass. I would like to replace it with a solid brass boss. I need one that is about 2 1/2" in diameter. A general search of the internet wasn't much help, so I am hoping a forum member might be able to assist with pointing me in the right direction.

I did a search for brass/bronze bosses earlier this year. I wanted a solid (not plated) boss for a targe I made and didn't want to buy a sheet of brass. To skip the details, I didn't have any success and ended up making my own. It's really not hard to do. If you can't find a supplier, feel free to email contact me and I'll give you instructions. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
