The work of JT Pälikkö
I just bookmarked his site and it's worth having a good look see and knowing more about his work. Anybody with personal experience with this maker and his work would be appreciated.

Here is a Frankish spear that looks very very good: http://www.kp-art.fi/jt/index_eng.html

Many other things worth having a look at as he makes quite an interesting variety of things from swords to knives to axes.

Here, a real Francisca using the right type of curved haft for this throwing axe. ( At least from what I have read about Franciscas: Most modern replicas don't get the half right even if some of the axe heads look generally O.K. )

Anyway, just thought the work deserves the exposure and a " plug ".

( Thanks to Nate C. for bringing this site to my attention on my OlliN sword topic thread. )

Edited: All the links seem to lead to the same home page so just click on spears to see the spear mentionned and other spears. The francisca is on the " historical " sub-category ".
I would also love to hear about any experiences with this maker. I've been intrigued by many of the things shown on his website and would love to read some hands-on feedback.

I particularly like some of the items like this seax.

I have seen several of his swords and handeled a Sgian Dhu knife made by him. Too bad Mr. Windsor won't let his students handle his JT-swords. The craftmanship is top notch, I hear he's a bit of a perfectionist. He went to great pains in making that pattern welded longsword for Mr. Windsor. I haven't gotten anything from JT (yet). Oh, and I've met the man too and he seemed to be a very nice fella. Actually I might see him next saturday too.
I was to Helsinki in june 2005 and had the opportunity to meet JT who is a very nice and warm guy.
I ordered a Z type viking sword, that I hope coming on the beginning of next year, and discussing the project was very friendly. He kindly authorized me to post any of the pictures I took at his art gallery provided I quote it is his work. This is the occasion.
As can be seen on the pictures he makes not only weapons but also iron artwork.
I could wield several of his swords and I find his work absolutely stunning.

Probably his work deserves being more well known.

Jean

The swiss saber in the picture above is one JT made for me. The whole process from the first contact - design talk - to delivery was a pleasure! And the saber is just out of this world beautiful :-) The craftmanship is up there with the best of the best.

Even though the grip gets most of the attention when people look at this saber the blade derserves just as much! JT

I can't really recommend JT enough :D

Best,

Søren
