This is a link to Gordon Frye's blog and some events he recently hosted: Jousting and medieval / renaissance related activity.

Gordon may not have posted this here out of modesty and not wanting to do any self-promotion: So without asking him first here is a link to his Blog. Wink ( Since a Blog is meant for public viewing my anybody finding it I'm assuming and hoping that he won't mind. )

Anyway, I think some of you might enjoy it and also bookmark his Blog for an occasional look at.

Gordon is a great guy and he was very supportive a couple of years back when my Mom was in hospital for a couple of months. So, apart from the fact that I think you will enjoy his Blog and pics I like him and what he does is really cool. Cool Cool Cool

Being thousands of miles away is sort of a shame as I can't drop by and annoy him in person. Wink Laughing Out Loud

I believe they were at the Gig Harbor Renn Faire in Washington this summer. Funny, I'm watching Gordon lancing "heads" off of the ground and didn't even realize it was him!

Jean;

You are too kind, Sir, thank you for posting this! I guess for some reason it didn't occur to me that folks here would be interested, so I just spaced out on mentioning it, but thank you for bringing it to everyone's attention, it is most thoughtful of you!

We had a great time practicing pike drill, doing some broadsword and rapier fencing (folks from Academia della Spada were kind enough to join us and provided both bodies for pike drill and the fencing: http://www.academiadellaspada.com/ ) as well as practicing jousting with balsa tips. We had about 35 folks over (which totally blew me away, as we didn't actually push for folks to show, but we had a great response from the Spada scholars). Only seven horses were present, but that was fine too, as some of them definitely need work before they're ready for either jousting or playing cavalry. It was, however, a good training experience for everyone, two or four footed.

Here is a link for some other pictures that may be of interest: http://www.goodecompanye.com/RenSoldier06/

And Mr. Stark: Sorry that you didn't recognize me and introduce yourself at Gig Harbour, as I would have enjoyed speaking with you. Please feel free to PM me if you'd like, since you're moved so close now. I'd love to chat!

Thanks again, Jean, for posting this!

Allons!
