Dear Friends,

The Sickle Sword originated in ancient Egypt during the 2nd Milennium BC. The name of the sword was Khopesh and examples are kept in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

The Egyptians under Pharoah Tutmoses III created an Empire that included the coastal areas of Sinai, Canaan and perhaps as far north as Lebanon and Syria.

The Canaanites during the MBII (1900-1550 BC) adopted many of the Egyptian styles of weapons as they were much more advanced than the locally produced styles.
