"Servus" from barbarian Bavaria

Hi Folks,

i´m Steve, 37, born in Switzerland, since ´94 i live in Germany (Mom is of good ol´prussian origin), since 2000 in Bavaria and since 2005 in Munich (a big nice village with a lot of museums and libraries, and one of the lovely girls - the loveliest of them - of Munich is mine: Ferro J.)

I´m interessed in pre-historic and ancient weapons, tools and clothing of the paleolithic, the middle urnfield era and the westhallstatt culture.

I practice living history in this three parts of time:

Stoneage

Bronze age

Iron age

I start in this days my own business with reconstructions of weapons, tools and clothing from this periods: www.archaeoreplik.de (website is this time "under construction").

I hope, i can answer questions - i´m sitting at the source...

Welcome Steve!

Munich is indeed a lovely city. I have visited only once, but look forward to the next opportunity.
A good friend of mine, Roman Landes (an exraordinary knifemker) used to live there and has now moved to a house in the beautiful countryside close by.

It wll be interesting to see more examples of your work.

At this days i´ve finished a urnfield "Lappenbeil" and a hallstatt hunting knife - and start my work at an hallstatt dagger (and an paleolithic spearthrower for the dad of my lady). Pics will follow (when i get a new digicam).

Hi Steve!

It's nice to meet you! I have never seen any Stone Age reenacting until your photo, that is very interesting. I love your Bronze Age kit as well. Munich is a great city, I have been there several times when I was stationed in Augsburg. Love to see more photos of your work!

Welcome to you, also, Ferro! Good luck in your studies. I find it interesting to see the stone age reenactments from you and Steve L. In the USA, we sometimes see similar reenactments from native Americans. However, for some strange reason, it did not occur to me that Europeans might have a similar interest. I like your haircut, but I wonder if you think it is historically accurate? :D I find the contrast interesting between your short hair and Steve's long hair.

In ice age hair is a brilliant firestarter - and i´m a little bit stronger then her... :D

And some ice age art shows short haired female and long haired male figurines.

...but we try not to use a similar imaging to native americans...
But as soon as we use deerskin, theres some similarity, if we intend or not...

and the hair...
maybe they cut it wehn they had maybe louses?

At the moment i have a mohawk haircut, an this is authentik for bronzeage (the egtved girl in the oak coffin) and skythians (a head of a mumie, female too, from the altai.) ;)
