Armet from middle 15th century
Good day

I do not have an acces to good sources referring to armour and I like to know how would look like typical armet from period 1440 to 1460 or so. Also Id like to know if armets were used during this period in france that means at the end of 100yrs war. From what I know sallet was most common helmet of that period but many best armour pieces used by french nobility came from Italy but Im not absolutely sure.

Id also like to know if french gendarmes by that time commonly used full horse armour or at least peytrels or if it was rare.

Thx for help.

Ok, that's wierd.

I'm assuming those are vervelles around the bottom of that "S18" armet.

How do you hang an aventail on a helm that opens up like an armet does?
