More Next Gen's
Albion Armorers does it again. If there wasn't enough eye candy already this makes it even harder to decide what I want.

But hey, who's complaining? :D

Sempach!
Well I guess Peter and the folks at Albiion either had an ace up their sleeve or they listened. Either way, that Sempach is damn sweet!!!!

James
Hey Gary,
Thanks for posting this, I'm rather partial to the Sempach myself. It is almost unfortunate that I am going to have to wait awhile for one of these NG swords, too many irons in the fire at the moment....but they are some rather nice irons, so I can't complain ;)

Bob
Hi James, looks like we all do the have the same tastes, lol. Beat me by a coupla minutes on this one. The Sempach looks really sweet, and I just love the pommel. These are great times we live in bro, so much cool stuff from so many makers.

I'm taking the Durer to clas with me tonight, so Bill can ogle her, the more I handle this sword, the more I like her. Did you get that amazing custom job from CF today?

Bob
Very nice, I've been looking for a good scottish single hander! I like the Laird, so I'll definately place an order as soon as I get the money for it.

I totally agree! I really like the pommel on this one.
Here's the swords being discussed:

Left to right: The Laird, The Caithness, and The Sempach
I like that Sempach too, but I think I'm going to wait until I can see more than concept drawings before I buy more (mostly so I just don't buy more before I get current stuff paid off).
Oooo, that Sempach's nice...

Hmmm. Already have the Landgraf on order. Now I'm contemplating calling Albion up and asking about switching the two while it's still early. The thing is, I like the looks of the Landgraf's guard more, but as a guy who likes to "pommel" the sword when holding it, the T2 pommel on the Sempach is really crying out to me.

Decisions...
I found it! The lairds mine! Now thats one I've been waiting for... I really like that Caithness too! Oh yeah, now for the money part ...
Well, we know Albion listens to their customers. I recall that Eric (?) mentioned some time ago that alternate hiltings were under consideration for the NG line, but I hadn't heard anything since, until now. They really do look nice. If only Albion would consider hilting the Clontarf as a "Norman" or "Knightly" type-X... ;)
The Sempach looks great, but I have already 3 swords on order, so it sadly has to wait.
Hey Guys,

This was a quick reaction!
The Scottish swords you´ve seen were actually not the final versions. Oops...
(Sempach is final version; with slight margin allowed for tweaking during production)

The difference is not great though:
-Both swords will have the same cross guard.
-Pommel on the Laird is slightly bigger with a better defined rivet block.
-Pommel on the Caithness is more compact and a bit more angular, as seen on effigies in the National museum, Edinburgh.

And the Caithness, final version:
(Sorry about this confusion!)

Sorry Peter, my fault :(

I was so excited to see more that I should have waited for the official announcement.

The anticipation's just too much :D
I like the Caithness; definitely a rather unique hilt :) . Now if we could put the pommel from the Sempach on the Landgraf I would be a really happy man :D

Ahh, but anticipation is a good thing. Frustrating at times, but good ;)

No problem, it would just be sad if someone fell in love with an early version that did not get through the critical eye of the needle: to find his anticipation never to be met by a design come true. That would be sad.

Its almost like at the local Pizza bakery: Even if they have 58 differrent pizzas, I will still want one that is a mix of two or three :D
-Why is that, you think?

Creativity is infectious; in some cases more virulent than this year's flu! :D
