Interesting, I'm guessing that that is a very early sabre? Where's it from and how did it end up in that state?

Addison, from what I gathered talking with Lee Jones back at our October round atble this practice of bending or deforming swords which goes back to the iron age at least is a ritualized "killing" of the decased owners sword so that it can "Cross over" with him to the next life. Dr. Jones has a 1st century celtic long sword that had been bent twice (inot an S) and at some point in atiquity straightened and a collector friend of mine has an early celtic sword that was broekn into 4 pieces. Nichola's sword is the most extreme bending deformation i've seen.

At a guess I would say that is not Turkish (well at least not Seljuq or Ottoman anyway), possibly it is Magyar or Avar.
