Janesville Renaissance Faire - 5/20-21/06
Yep, you read it right, a Janesville Renaissance Faire!

The Janesville Jaycees contacted our group about helping them out with a weekend renaissance faire to raise money for their 4th of July activities as well as food for the local food bank, ECHO.

After some discussions with them, we have agreed to co-sponsor the event.

Place: Traxler Park, Janesville WI 53545
Time: May 20-21, 2006

What we need from you:

A commitment to be there. We need people, and as many people as possible. We want to make this event a fun one, for the patrons but also for us. Think of it as a big party, in costume, for the weekend.

We are doing a tie in with the local school districts as well seeing as the Wisconsin cirriculum generally places Middle Ages and Renaissance history in the late spring.

Camping is available on site, no fees. Merchants and Performers are needed, contact me for details, contact@gsmbristol.org

Post with questions and hopefully I'll be able to answer them, help us make this a huge success!
Great news! We just recieved permission to do our musket/cannon demos from the city. We should have our muskets, 6lb gun and 1560's swivel gun there for demo and display.

Also with the PR breakdown I received from the Janesville Jaycees, this promises to be a pretty big event! Look for advertisements from Madison to Rockford and all places in between!
We'll be there in all our 5th century splendour!

It is REALLY going to be weird working a faire without jousting.......
Two weeks to the opening of this event! Come out and support all of your favorite Bristol folks and learn about some new acts as well!

We're very happy to have Greg Larson and Heath Denikas - Two Merry Men and the Seven Deadly Sins and Brent Allan - Molotov's Magic and Mayhem - performing with us on the main stage!

On the second stage area we've got tribal music and belly dancing and the Scurvvy Dawgs.

As for the kids, we've got a scavenger hunt/things to do booklet available at the gate. Arts and crafts including designing your own heraldic shield and making stained glass windows. We've got a puppet show being put on by the local middle school, Storytelling for the kids, Minion School by Devon Spencer (the Evil Queen), and face painting. All for Free!

Lloyd Clark is going to be setting up with his Historic Camelot Project and do Western Martial Arts Demos and instruction.

The Guilde of St. George will be there to show what court life is like.

The Bristol Buskin Frolic is coming out to sing, dance, play and frolic their hearts out!

Lots of great vendors including novelists, henna art, musical instruments, period toys and games, garlands, wands, bath and beauty accessories and more!

We've got great food and drink provided by several local resturants and the local brewery, Gray's Brewery.

And of course we've got GSM-Bristol doing martial training and firing off their muskets and cannons.

We've got the foundation for a great time! The cost is very affordable, at $7 for adults ($5 with a non perishable food donation), $4 for kids 4-12, and kids under 4 are free!

All we need is everyone to come out and have a great time with us!
