Hi All,

After 24 years (on and off) of jousting, I am retiring after our fayre October 1 and 2. This means that you have 2 more opportunities to see me possibly get knocked silly and land heavily in a cloud of dust Eek!

So, I invite everyone that can make it to come to Lanzefest this weekend in New Glarus or to our Camelot Medieval Harvest Fayre in Beaver Dam.

I am not "leaving the business" per se, I have already started pre-stage planning on a couple of Equestrian Combat Manuals (Talhoffer, Fiore, and possibly Kals), will continue to work with Schola St. George, and will continue to provide top quality medieval education through our Historic Camelot Project.

It has been a great (if somewhat painful at times) 24 years and I know that I will be sad to see it end, but my wife and 3 year old will now have me Full Time!

Cheers,

Lloyd-

As someone who has seen you and your company joust several times, I can say that the Historical Entertainment community as well as Medieval purists will miss you greatly. I can't think of a better reason to retire though! Happy

I just count myself lucky that I live close enough to participate with you in October and come visit every now and again!

Best wishes as always to you and yours-

Chris

Good Grief, Lloyd! Now that I'm just getting into this, you can't quit on me! Well, I guess you can, actually, but it will hurt my ego to only have Girls knocking the snot out of me, rather than Manly Men like yourself in the IJA! Big Grin Of course, Clif Bassett will knock me to smithereens too, but he has long hair and a smooth chin, so he can pass... Laughing Out Loud But hey, if Mike Neeley can retire, I guess you can too....

Take Care then, Mate, and see you out there! (I REALLY wish you were going to Sonora...) Sad

Cheers,

Gordon

Hi Gordon,

I will probably be out there in February to help train ya'll (at least that is what I surmise from Patty, et al) and I am pretty sure that I will be doing some full on passes - so you may get your wish yet!

Lloyd;

Good to know! Bev Thompson and I have been practicing with lightweight lances (not breakaways) against shields already, and have our horses pretty well up to speed on passes and the "Clang" of contact, LOL! We have a lyst set up with a tilt, but not yet a countertilt so we can get the horses used to not needing one. They're getting better at it... Happy By the time we see you in February, we all ought to be up to speed on this stuff! And hopefully I'll have ALL of my armour from Allan by then, too! Big Grin (Edit to state that it isn't Allan that's holding up the armour completion, it's my pocketbook! One Piece at a Time, etc...! Big Grin )

Cheers,

Gordon
