Does anyone know what museum or what collection these sabers are from?

I am particularly interested in the one 3rd from the right.

Thanks

Hello Chris

Looks a bit like Paris as far as the display but this is just a guess. Who did you get the pic from?

Sorry, I included the source in my post on SFI but forgot to do it here.

I took this photo from the albums section of this sight. I think it was under antique arms: curved swords. So I'm fairly confident someone here has some information on it.

Here is a link to the page it's on: http://www.myArmoury.com/albums/thumbnails.ph...amp;page=4

ETA: I went to the Paris museum album on this website and there is another picture with the exact same style of display case and labeling so it probably is from Paris.

Thanks!! That helps me narrow down my search alot!!

I can't help you, but I absolutely love the second sword from the right.

I favour the swiss saber in the middle.
This museum image gives an idea how large this late sabers really have been.

I have been examining the middle saber closely. In the album http://www.myArmoury.com/albums/thumbnails.ph...amp;page=4 where I got the original photo, an almost identical Swiss saber (I'm not certain it isn't the same one from a slightly different angle) precedes the group shot and it's blade length is listed as 38 1/4"!!

I'm trying to decide if the the one 3rd from the right would be classified as a Swiss Saber. I'm also trying to decide if it's primarily a one-handed saber or one that could be classified as hand-and-a-half.

IS that one in the center a serated blade? I didn't think serated swords actually existed outside of fantasy literture!

IS that what that is?

That blade is definately serrated! If you follow the link, click on the thumbnail, and then click on the picture once more you get a larger picture where more detail is visible.

I'd love to know what the cards below each sword say.

Hopefully the person who photographed and/or posted this display will see this thread.

George, I edited the link in your post, above. Please look at the bottom of the page and see "Direct link to this photo" for the correct link. It's sort of an odd quirk with the albums, but that's the link that will work for everybody

Opps. Thanks, I didn't know I needed to do that.

Can you tell me anything about where these came from?

IMO it's a one-handed saber
