Well, I don't feel sorry for you. I'm 5'8", 195 lbs and, um, more than 20% body fat....

The good news is that the Renwax seems to make the grip MORE grippy not less, at least when applied initially and the grip is never more slippery after a lot of handling as the excess wax rubs off or the wax dries. ( No finger prints on the blade visible as opposed to oiling, so wipping down after touching the blade is very much minimized ... Love this stuff.... get some. )

Interesting about the grippiness with Renwax. I love Renwax, and have it on all of my blades - less mess than oil IMO. I do vaguely recall reading somewhere that it is better to oil the blades if you cut with them (easier maintenance), but I don't do cutting.
Well after cutting just reapply more wax ! The oil is more to protect during storage or display than for the short time a sword is actually in use. If cutting removes the protective layer of wax what does it matter if you wipe off the blade after use and reapply the wax.

Or just oil over the wax just before cutting if it actually is needed or useful.

Might remove the oil with a degreaser before reapplying the wax if oil on the blade is a problem with the effective use of Renwax.
