Technique forum?
Hey, why isn't there a forum dedicated to technique? You know, the usual 'how do I do that thing fiore is talking about' or 'whats a good way to pell practice'?
myArmoury.com isn't a martial arts site. We're a site for collectors. We consider the discussion of martial use of arms to be consistent with the discussion of the actual weapons. Understanding the martial application of weapons is important and relevant to the hobby of collecting, but understanding its relationship to the other aspects of the collecting hobby is important. Separating it--just as separating modern reproductions, antiques, arms, armour, or cultural diversity--from the context of our focus would further take everything out of context and reduce the value of the inter-relationship of all of these things. It's all open for discussion, but it's best for us to do so in one area: be it in the area of discussing historic arms, or in the off-topic area (when, perhaps, discussing a fantasy or gaming aspect of martial use, for example...)

I'd like to encourage people to discuss arms and armour from a multi-faceted point of view that includes its place in history; its developmental path through culture, time, and place; its martial application; its representation in art and literature; as well as other considerations. It's all of these elements together that tells the whole story.
