|
|
Here is a shot of me in my new (Valentine) Sallet and gothic breastplate at Military Through the Ages (MTA) held last weekend near DC. MTA is a timeline event - has groups representing everything from Vikings up through modern day soldiers. Most of the groups strive hard for authenticity - it is a pretty neat experience. I am a member of Lord Grey's Retinue, re-enacting a medieval household of 1471. (http://www.lordgreys.org).
Anyway - here is a shot of me in kit holding my A&A Type XX.
Gordon
[Edit - actually the event is MTT (Marching Through Time - MTA is at Jamestown, and was last month)
Same type of timeline event.

Ack, MTA was last weekend?! I totally would have gone had I realized! I practically live in DC!
Looking good, there, Gordon. I've been slowly putting together a gothic harness, we'll have to get together some time to do some comparisons!

Thanks Russ, but you were supposed to look at the kit, the armour, ...
:-)
Actually staring at the sword is probably what I would do too.

As Homer would say, "Mmmmmm.........sallet." My two favorite helm types: the sugarloaf and the sallet (any type of sallet). How 'bout a visor-down shot?

Here - front shot and not a closeup, but it will have to serve.

rats - I always get the name wrong. MTA is at Jamestown - this one is MTT (Marching Trough Time) - same kind of timeline event. I'll fix the post above.

You look like a Cylon in that second photo Gordon.
Did you walk around all weekend saying "By your command"?

That's what I've been telling him!
We could use another man for the weapons demo. Wouldn't even need to have his armor.

Funny how visor down almost makes the chin look more exposed out there than with the visor UP
A nice Bevor maybe
I do like my Valentine Eyeslot Kettle Hat and that Salet looks very ( any excuse is good for me to mention my TOYs )

Well it's either the one about "thou shalt not covet they neighbor's sword" or maybe the one about "thou shalt have no other Gods before me... "

Yeah, one of these days. Pesky weekend hour work always gets in the way of fun.

Good looking kit there, Gordon! (Good name, too, BTW!) I noticed your pic among those in your group's website posted over on the Firestryker board. Your "Greys" group seems to have their act very well together, so congratulations! Thanks for posting the nifty pictures.
Cheers,
Gordon
