It's supposed to be a joke.

Nathan's probably the best to expound on the new features, but I'll try my best.

Some cool features:
Spell checker: Easy to use. Keeps me from looking like a total idiot.
Formatting: Also easy to use. Highlight your text like a wordprocessor and click the B to bold it.
Albums: Already a huge pictorial database and getting bigger everyday. It allows people to comment and discuss individual pictures.
Forum technology: Similar to SFI, but a little easier to use in my opinion.

There are more features that I've probably left out, and more to be discovered.

Hey David, glad to see you here.. I like your Avatar.. very "introspective" look on your face. Kind of a "contemplating the world" kind of thing, you know?
thanks Nathan!
Yours looks like you are listening to someone........ was that cropped out of another picture? prehaps a group picture?
Just thought I'd tag onto David's thread for my first post
I have to say, the format is very nice. I hope these forums take off. Very nicely done.

Cheers,
Welcome David ..... nice to have you on board ! Mac

There's plenty of that already on the 'net. These forums are very narrow in their focus, by design. They're intended to augment the community with another outlet in which to learn, not replace or compete with anyone.

It's all good. Besides, as beautiful as the movies and the story itself is, I'm so over "Lord of the Rings" right now I could puke. haha..

I love Lord of the Rings, really. Have since I was a little kid... But, I agree. There is a point where enough is too much, and I'm getting there real fast. I think that the community of blade enthusiast will benefit a lot from a narrower focus, for a while... Ofcourse, just my opinion, and worth about as much as was paid for it. :D
Nathan nice spot ya got here...
 well i found out your lovely site has a forum and didnt want to waste bandwidth with another thread but this seems to have lots of familiar faces around and a great format :). in case your wondering who i am its Robert.B off axeforum and SFI though i thought i'd stick the full name as requested.

on the lord of the rings thing i think my sig says it all...:p
Robert.B
Nathan, i was asking to submit pictures of my Atrim Ranger basically.
Why won't you be allowed too, David?

Don't bring old arguments over please.......

If it were up to me, and it's not :), I'd prefer to just see these forums used like the subtitle to this site "A Resource for Historic Arms and Armour Collectors." (Bold added by me for effect)

There are plenty of other outlets for LOTR inspired stuff. I would personally rather not see elf-costumes and movie-inspired weapons here. That stuff is posted on SFI all the time these days (and people seem to love it), but it's one reason that I'm gradually pulling away from that site. It's not bad to own those things or like those things, they just aren't my cup of tea.

On a side note, David, Gwailas is a beautiful sword. John did a heck of a job on it. Just because it's not my taste in things doesn't mean it's not a beautiful work of art and good sword.
