I just wanted to share this awesome video in which Ilya Alekseyev is making maybe the most beautiful sword I have ever seen.
The craftsmanship, skill, knowledge and efford that went into the making of this art-piece is just breathtaking.

It is not so much a historical build as there are some modern design elements as for example the mosaik-damascus, but such swords have also existed in history.
In fact I have seen a historical sword in one of Skallagrims videos belonging to Maximilian I. which shares a number of features with the sword that Ilya made.

I try to get as many people as possible to see this build...it really is one of a kind and worth seeing for sure.

I mean, the artistry of the handle and ricasso are impressive-- but that pattern weld in the blade is 100% NEXT LEVEL!!!

I don’t believe I have ever seen a more impressive pattern on a blade that large. Excellent work.
