Hi Lee! How have you been, my friend?

That's an interesting sword! I'm way out of my league on this one (Manoucher or Artzi Yarom would know). The hilt looks Persian Qadjar "Revival" to me. The multi-fullered, beefy blade is remarkeable, moreso that it is wootz.
I'm going to post that photo on the eewrs to see if we get any bites.

Let's see if anyone can give us more on this one.

There was some interest in the book I was getting the pictures from. I just found a copy being sold on ebay here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem...eName=WDVW
The seller is the same one I bought my copy of the topkapi museum book from and for what it's worth I recieved that book in good time and good condition. Anyway, if any of you are still interested in the book this is the place to go.

i'd be happy to hear your thought's on any other titles worthy of tracking down, for a novice such as myself,
on a sidenote, would you know of any working smiths around Iran to track down for a good shamshir,my aunt said her brother is visiting family in a few months, and she would be happy to act as a go between

No, but I bet Manoucher from Swordforum does. Though he can sometimes be reticent about giving out sources. It's worth asking.
