While digging around in my basement getting rid of some items I ran across some old handcuffs and leg irons. They appear to be from the mid to early 20th century. My father was given them in the 1970s by the US marshals office in Cincinnati as they were getting rid of old equipment. My father worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons and was over half way houses for the southern district of Ohio.

Any way I had thought my father had lost them since the 70s when he and my mother divorced. But found them in an old box he had kept in a shed outside. I had the box since he passed away 16 years ago but never got to go through it until this weekend.

I found the long lost handcuffs and leg irons which have accumulated alot of rust but are still in good shape. I was thinking of using CLP to clean them up some but wanted to check to see if anyone knew the value of these items? Or if cleaning them up is a good idea?

Any help would be appreciated.
