Hello my friends. I want to show you our last work. It was a special order that gave us a lot of emotions. It is a sword type X from X-XIth. century.
The blade is type 5 in Geibig's classification. It is a long, big blade and it has incredible blow strength.
All elements are full handmade - forged blade, holes in the crossguard and pommel forged in a traditional way and a socketforged by hand from sheet of
metal. Photos of the process you could seen in my posts.
The pattern on the scabbard was carved in 3D way. without the punches with a ready pattern and without ready-made rollers.
I hope you will enjoy our work - I invite you to fallow our page and to share this post.

Wow! This is amazingly beautiful. When I can afford it I would love a type X like that. Perhaps a bit less fancy :P

I am very impressed by the virtually-seamless transition from the fuller to the spine. It is difficult to exactly locate where one ends and the other begins-- it simply flows from one to the other.

You have always had a good eye for lines, shapes, and proportions, but this latest work of yours, I believe, perfectly illustrates how your attention to detail has steadily evolved from merely "excellent" to "impeccable!"
That's really lovely. Which original did you base it on in terms of dimensions, balance, flex etc ?

Thank you for your nice opinion about my work.
It it is not so easy to make this type of sword even if I make it another time. It is always a challenge for me. I work on the blade for a long time to make the ballance that I am very contented - and my client is also very happy with it. I always try to refine the details in each of my projects - I think that this is just my nature :-)

I am very happy that you like the sword and my implementation. You can see on the pictures that I put now all information on which I followed. The most important information for me is the lenght of the blade and all other dimensions I have to calculate proportionally. Making a blade with a good balance depends rather on practice in my case. When I have the blade in my hand during the process of polishing I knew that it is with good balance or I must work on it a little longer. The blade has 780g like I remember.

Custom Templar Sword
This wonderful Templar sword was made in my workshop in the last frosty weeks.
This is the lightest sword of this type that I have created.
Perfectly straight and symmetrical blade, perfectly ground all elements and extremely sharp edge make this sword unique and amazing. I was inspired on a historical find.
The leather and all wood element for scabbard are made by my wife. The scabbard and bindings of belt are inspired by historical sources from this period of history.A unique element - "the icing on the cake" is a completely handmade, perfectly fitted, metal chape.

Total lenght: 98cm
Blade lenght: 82cm
Weight: 1083g
Blade width at the base: 5cm
Balance: 10,5cm
Grip lenght: 9,6cm
Edge is sharp
Full functional, made with high quality steel 51CrV4 (6150),
