Thank you for doing this every year Roger.

In 2020 I rounded out a Viking phase by picking up a preowned Albion Berserker and the gorgeous Carrillo/Berry Steinvik sword shown below. Then I purchased a couple of interesting XIIs from Maciej (2nd photo). And sold a few to avoid hoarding.

For 2021 I'm expecting an Incarius XIV (3rd photo below) as soon as the scabbard is done. Also waiting for a Valiant Suontaka sword and for my place with Castle Keep to come up. That will be a Scottish sword of some type.

Selling, mostly. I need to part with one from Albion and two from A&A. As for acquisitions, I need to call Mike and inquire about the Warwick. Really love the proportions on that one.

Out of curiosity, which Albion and A&As are you planning on getting rid of?
I purchased more this year than in many years past. First, there is the Grimfrost Viking Spear, then the Reeve from Albion, and finally, a GDFB Spangenhelm.

Awesome additions JD. If you ever decided to move the Carrillo/Berry Steinvik along please let me know. I'm interested to hear your feedback on Incarius. If the quality is good they may represent a very good buy.
Roger, another Thank You for what now seems to be a tradition.

Had one hot item for 2020 which now appears to be a certainty for 2021. A raised German Gothic style salad with an articulated tail. Along with a similarly made and decorated bevor, to complete the picture. Will post photos on receipt.

Regards,
Dan

Thanks Patrick, I will keep that in mind. It's a big sword - I know you would like it.

And my thinking as well about Incarius. He (Rafal) seems to be improving in quality, while the prices remain relatively reasonable. His wife makes the scabbards, which is kind of nice. I wanted to give them a try and write a review.
this year has been pretty good to my collection, ive bought and sold more pieces then I can count and i've gotten some of the grail pieces that should stay in my collection for many years to come, including some last minute pieces that ive always wanted

1. Vince Evans Steinvik
2. Forja Fontenla Warg Langeid
3. Robert Moc inlaid Type X (last minute additions thanks to tim)
4. Robert Moc Piast
5. Michael Pikula pattern welded Type XIII (currently getting new grip and scabbard)

For the next year I think my buying will definitely slow down due to some life changes but the one piece thats on the table after a nearly 3 year wait is my Longship armory Fetterlane recreation, long time coming for that one, and very excited to get it sometime next year

Sounds like a dream workshop Harry, much better than my situation; working out of the spare room/study ;)

I was working out of my tiny garage. But since I retired and moved out into the country, I have space and time to build my dream workshop.
Of course, the Wife Unit calls it her "garage," but we're still negotiating that deal. :)

Those are some really fine pieces Nicholas. I really like that AE. You got it from Tim? I Missed that one.

ah right, i got it directly from Forja Fontenla the brothers were the ones who made it, they have a website and a fb page, i like it alot its fantastic and they are very kind and open with their knowledge, they based it on the Langeid sword which the castlekeep u have in the review is based on too and did a odin wolf theme, dimensions are the same as the artifact but just unique silver and gold inlays, by far the lightest viking sword ive handled and feels great to wield if u have smaller sized hands, check them out!

For 2021 a sword from Eric McHugh, due in February, is it thus far. My life has seen a lot of shifting in the last couple of years. Thankfully most of it has been positive, but it has caused me to reflect on life's priorities. Consequently, I don't think I'll be doing multiple projects a year from here on out, maybe just one major one every couple of years, if that.
This has been an ongoing project, but I will see an end in the next couple of months.
A full, hardened steel, Greenwich Garniture. Fully decorated (By me) Gilded and heat blued 1050 steel.
Original fabrication was started by Robert MacPherson, and finial fabrication was completed by Jeff Wasson.
Set includes:
Gorget
Cuirass
Placard (reinforcing breastplate)
Fauld / Tassets
Pauldrons
Arms
Gauntlets
Cuisses
Greaves/ Sabatons (with spurs)
Armet with field visor & reinforce
Tilting visor
Grand guard
Pass guard
Manifer
Burgonet
Falling buff
Mail sleeves

The plan is to joust in it this this spring / summer and perhaps have a special event at the Wallace collection next year.
 Whoa!

I'm just starting to try to build my first harness, but nothing like that. I am FLOORED!
Chris,
That’s amazing! Nice work all around.
I'm not even into Medieval armor but that is just stunning. Could stare at that detail work and beautiful color contrast all day.
Fitting that I got my Albion Tiberius Gladius just a couple days before my birthday which is the 29th of December, now to look towards getting a scabbard made for it in 2021.

I have two commissioned items this year.
The first one I got today :-)

It's a mancatcher, made by a friend of mine. It need to be hafted, and I'm left to my own devices to fix the springs for it. But I think I'll manage!

Later this year, there will hopefully be another pole arm, an Ahlspiess that I will be sure to post when its here.
