I'm wondering about the strapping arrangements for a large, flat top kite shield like the ones seen in the 12th century Rolandslied and Hortus Deliciarum .

I know about the proposed solution here:
https://www.degueulesetdargent.fr/2017/03/02/shield-straps-and-holding-of-the-shield-in-the-early-13th-century/ . However, the enarmes shown in the Rolandslied are horizontal, and placed lower on the shield.

Does anyone have a proposal for horizontal straps near the middle to upper third of the shield?
