Transport of Crossbows in the Middle Ages? -- myArmoury.com

Okay, I know longbows were transports in bow bags to protect them while on the march. What about crossbows? Were they ever rigged to slings for carriage? Carried in bags? On the supply wagons?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I can't find a picture of it, but there's a Matthew Paris manuscript which shows crossbowmen carrying their crossbows over their shoulders.
