WOW! It's so cool to see a replica of that sword, especially with Craig's great thread. It's a sword that defies modern expectations and tastes, but there it is. Well done!

Elegant and deceptively simple. Nice job.
Nice that you like the piece. Craig's thread prompted me to post it.
You can find some photos from the smithy here; https://www.facebook.com/kristian.giddelo/media_set?set=a.10218087288201996&type=1
It's great to see a reproduction of this item! I've been wanting one ever since Matt Easton and Toby Capwell's video discussing the original, years ago:

Excellent, love to see some of the plainer weapons recreated.

Do you know how accurate your stats are compared to the original?

The museum piece has the following dimensions:
Length: 75.5 cm
Width: 3.1 cm
Weight: 0.93 kg

My sword is heavier, broader and longer.
The museum piece has been sharpened several times. What can be seen at the curve of the blade on the crossguard.
We do not know when this happened.
That is why I have instructed the blacksmith to make the sword as it would have come out of the forge.
Made a scabbard for the sword. Hope you like it.
