For sale: One handed 13th century Templar sword with inscriptions.
This sword design is inspired by some group of original swords in european museums.
Sword characteristics
That sword reflects a lot of important features of 13th century swords.
Blade is long and wide, stiff but designed more for strong cutting. Crossguard is straight, simple and classic for this type of sword. Large pommel gives nice balance, more close to the hilt. (...)
Inscriptions
Inscriptions on the blade is: +NNDNNSNDG+
These are initilas taken from knights Templars motto in latin:
'Non nobis Domine, non nobis, sed nomini Tuo da gloriam'
what means: 'not unto us, O Lord, not unto us; but unto thy Name be ascribed all honour and glory'
Pommel
In the pommel are two silver coins from crusaders period: Principality of Antioch Bohemund III 1149-1163.
On the sides of the pommel are 4 crosses around.

I know the movie has plenty of inaccuracies, silver painted sweaters to look like maille armor, etc., but pretty good overall considering the times it was made ;-)
