Hi,

for a long time I have been fascinated by Tonlet armor, although I'm recreating late 14th century citizenship.
During the past weeks that interest has been sparked again and I find myself facing the same problem again. There seem to be sources in regards to Tonlet armor whatsoever. No books, no articles and very few images.

Tonlet armor has developed pretty fast during the late 15th and early to mid 16th century as far as I can tell from the few pictures of armor in museums, but I'm only guessing.

I'd appreciate any help in pointing me in the right direction. Right now I'm thinking of contacting the Royal Armory, but I'm afraid that they won't have the time or resources to answer, especially, as I'm not a scholar on the subject and just trying to build knowledge.

With best regards,
Andrés
