A good nasal helmet replica?
I have been looking for a good, functional replica of the type of nasal helmet made from a single piece, and i have not been able to find one that is under 500$ (there are some good looking ones that are out of stock).

The so called St. Wencesclas helmet limits the timeframe, and so does the phrygian style. A helmet similar to the Olmutz helmet seems to me the best type for a wide timeframe.

Any recommendations? :\

The Olmutz helmet:

Here is one in stock for $74.99 you could modify the bottom to be straight like the nasal on the one you posted, or leave it as is. It is in 16 gauge so should be functional and has a liner/strap: http://www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=...D+16+Gauge

Thanks :)
I wonder if there is a supplier in europe? The delivery costs can get quite salty ;)
Try these guys

Or
http://spqr.se/product-category/rustning/hjalmar/page/2/

I have not tried them myself, but I am tempted :-)

Cheers

Thanks! I had looked at the gdfb Olmutz helmet, but the rivets on the rim stood out like a sore thumb. Those swedish manufacturers i had never heard of, but their Olmutz helmet looks really good, and the delivery costs should be pretty good, as it would be delivered from a western neigbour :D I have sent them some questions about the dimensions, i hope that they will respond soon :)
There is a person selling a replica of this helmet on Facebook at the moment. I’ve not seen the helmet personally, but will drop you a pm with the persons details.
This seems like a good replica but i dont know if the site is legit. Does anyone know if Marchand Medieval is a trustworthy supplier?

The helmet http://www.marchand-medieval.com/medieval/lan...elmet.html
So i bought the helmet from Marchand Medieval, and it came within a reasonable amount of time. There is one thing that wasn't mentioned on the site: It lacks a suspension system, also the chinstrap on this particular helmet is damaged, but that is mentioned on their site, and they had a lower price for that helmet, so no problem there.

The manufacturer is not mentioned on their site, but based on the makers mark the helmet comes from an armorer called Czcibor: http://www.czcibor.com

So probably Marchand Medieval ordered the helmets without a suspension system to save some money which is understandable, but the should have had a disclaimer about this in the product description.

The helmet seems sturdy and well made, and i don't really mind about the lacking suspension, because i need a bit of practice in making and attaching a liner before i make my own helmet somewhere in the future :D
