Hello
Kult of Athena had these in a month or so ago and they went pretty quickly, and I was too slow on the draw. I`am pretty impressed by the looks. If you bought one of these could you share your thoughts ?

It looks like an early 17th century sabre.

Seems like there is a typo or mistranslation on part of Del Tin, it is listed in their 16th Century section on the web page but classified as a "15th Century" in the text, the weapon it self is a typical late 1500's sabre similar to for exampel the many sabres in the Graz Armoury dated to the 1575-1600 period. The Graz sabres were used to arm the hussars employed by the Styrian estates as part of the defence against the Ottomans but the type was very common indeed among Hungarian troops in Royal Hungary and Transylvania as well.

I have the DT sabre on order but it will not turn up for some months.

It's a 16th century. I have one, custom ordered directly from Del Tin once it was on the web.
Fulvio struck the blade, upon my request, with a line of 'eyelash' decoration ending with a three-dot mark.
The feeling & handling of that saber is fantastic, it is lighter than appears and very fast. Solid construction and period look.

I was the one who snatched that one off KOA as soon as I saw it. Wink Love it--only thing that would make it better for me is if it had a thumb ring.
