The original sword is in the Wallace Collection, but I do not have the stats of the original unfortunately and it does not seem to be photographed on their website archive.

Actually, the A479 is on the Wallace Collection website with pictures. There is a few stats and a description as well.

Great review Matt!
Being the proud owner of it's twin, I can only agree on all accounts (won't go into details as I've done a mini review on Tod thread on this forum). Great to have the opinion of an Hema instructor on its handling too!
We had the opportunity to document the sword, and Tod got very much drawn to it right away (as we all were to be fair) and he clearly wanted to have a go at these. That's the best starting point for a commission you can hope for really and though it took a few years in the making it was totally worth it. Extensive documentation and Tod's uncanny ability to somehow memorize and reproduce the feel of the sword in hand really makes this sword quite special as it lands so very close to the original.
And yes - a touch of vinegar and some steel wool rubbing and it's not hard to imagine this sword to be convincing in a museum display (won't do that on mine though Happy

).
Really great to see the scabbard up close and in motion - it's a masterpiece in itself and I have much work to do to remotely match that...

When you were giving the measurements, I wish that you had included blade thickness and distal taper.

That is a really beautiful sword
