Anyone have a line on aftermarket options to replace the stock fittings on a Hanwei Tinker longsword blunt?

A crafty fellow could make a nice little Albion Laird wannabe with the Scottish fittings. If I didn't already commit to a H/T Norman, I would be all over this!.......McM

Yeah, the first batch is more or less sold out, but there will be more coming in a couple of months.
(I got a Viscount set cast in bronze. It's lovely!)
LG Martial Arts posts regularly over at Sword Buyers Guide, you might take a look at the forums there if you want a heads up when new stock becomes available. I think the latest news is here.

Out of curiosity Mikko, were the castings already available in bronze, or were they a custom order?
Also, do you have any pics of the fittings? I'd be really interested to see how they look in bronze.
Thanks,
-Tomas

I think it was a one-off experiment. I pre-ordered the regular steel fittings back when Lemuel started making these, but there were a lot of delays and complications (as honestly should be expected of a brand new production just starting up) and finally he asked if I'd be interested in a bronze set he already had lying around, instead. I couldn't say no to that. I'm sure they could make more of these if they got enough requests to justify another run.
I'll snap some photos for you when I get back home.

Thanks Mikko, I agree with you that if he had a bronze version of the fittings I would definitely pay extra for that.

Excuse the quality. I did my best with a phone and a ceiling light.
The sword is WIP (I made the grip looooong ago to fit the original fittings and it doesn't quite sit with these, and the blade really needs to be cleaned up and polished) but the bronze fittings are the main thing, here. They're already slightly tarnished from handling, but I actually prefer the natural patina to a shiny polish. Very snug fit, as you can see in the last picture!

Mikko I'm envious of those fittings! I just got the steel fittings for the longsword and they're very high quality, but the bronze definitely brings some added character to the sword.

It looks like the http://www.lgmartialarts.com/ site where printed armoury fittings were previously available is now bust.
Does anyone have any leads on where fittings for Hanwei Tinker blades can be obtained?

Hi All,
When LG Martial Arts closed it's online store, I worked with Luis and Mike Jia (designer of Printed Armoury) to take on his inventory, and sell via my online store: https://rambletree.net/collections/printed-armoury
The site is primarily for my original Celtic Art & Apparel. I'm not selling blades or weapons at this time. Just the Printed Armoury guards and pommels. Shipping policies, etc. are all right there on the product pages.
Here's a recap of answers to the many questions I've received about availability, etc.:
-What is listed on the store is everything that Mike Jia, creator/owner of Printed Armoury, has sent me.
-The recent update is from a small stock discovered at the foundry.
-I do not interact with the foundry directly, but rather carry the inventory, and host Printed Armoury's products on my online store.
-The parts are in my possession, and ship from RambleTree Studio in Vermont, USA.
-Depending on demand, there are plans for a new batch (they must be ordered from the foundry in quantities of several hundred, per design).
-Shorter runs, from a smaller foundry, would increase the cost and retail price manyfold.
-Ballpark timeline for new stock: 6 months
Thanks!
Faugh a ballagh!
