I saw the progress pictures on Facebook of the scabbard and thought it looked great. A truly awesome piece of work by Brian for a really nice sword. Congratulations on both!

New Cold Steel "German Longsword", a steal at Knifecenter...looks a lot like recent Dynasty Forge models! I highly doubt that Windlass-is-making-CS-blades theory when i hold it in hand...

I have pretty conclusively demonstrated that Windlass makes at least the Cold Steel Scimitar (the old model, not the newer one they have going on now)-- I took apart a Windlass Persian Scimitar to find the remains of a 'Cold Steel' stamp on the tang, and they both have extremely similar blades.
Anyway, yeah, it's no real secret that Cold Steel has diversified somewhat beyond selling blades from Windlass. It's known that they were getting some of their sabers from Dynasty Forge or some other place in China. I would not be surprised at all if they've continued that with their newer swords.

Well some of their Man-At-Arms line look and feel pretty much Windlass...especially that Italian! The all-glossy-leather scabbard on these screams ULTRA-Windlass... ;-)...also typical wavy sharpening and "meh"-fit&finish. Considering the new swords are quite higher priced it seems they buy a lot of different blades from a lot of different makers for a lot of different swords...

Gents, this is my new two-handed Falchion (so advertised) from Jino Swords (Jiri Novak, Czech Republic), also shown in the newacqui thread...my question to the experts...IS it from a historical background or just "plausible fantasy"?

Here is my latest acquisition, the Arms and Armor Edward III sword, with gold plating. A surprisingly well handled sword. The hilt is larger than the pictures show. It's much like a bastard sword and handles well in one or two-hands.

My last acquisition was this British Dragoon Officers sword with hollow-ground blade. Circa 1680's. I'm very pleased with it and always wanted a sword from this period.

I kinda feel like the poor kid on the block...amongst all these beautiful customs. But....mine was a Windlass/MRL German bastard sword from Deal of the Day a while back. No need for a picture....if you don't know the sword, you've been living under a rock. I think I got a very decent sword for $103 + sharpening and shipping. Mine came peened over the pommel and sharp as hell! MRL does a really good job of their sharpening!  ..........McM

The year begins well... my custom middle 15th century two-handed falchion by Marco Danelli is on the road to my home ! I'm very excited to handle it

Very nice - one does not see a "bastard" falchion very often and this one is very attractive indeed (I like the fluted grip - the slender blade makes this unlikely combination work). Needs a scabbard worthy of the piece!
