Oy! That's a pity, because this is an interesting design. Pits, scratches, nasty edge and finish....sounds like this one would be an especially good candidate for antiquing, Nathan. You could file off the serial number while you're at it. You know, you might even be the first person ever to file the serial numbers off a SWORD! Just be aware that police forensic scientists have the means to recover the numbers if you don't do a thorough job ;-/

That's really not a bad idea, Sean. I might have to do that. I'd like to recover something from this purchase, and getting something that at least looks relatively decent as an aged piece might be the way to go. I even thought about sending it off to somebody to kind of re-tool it, but I don't want to put any more money into it. It just isn't worth it.
