A colleague fell in love with the saber.
He asked for a few changes. Blade with greater curvature and more Polish shape of the handle.
Now I rebuker some pictures of the work.

Karabela type of classic form, probably Ottoman Court Workshop. The dark horn grips inlaid with engraved

and profiled geometrical silver plaques, the guard of silver, chiseled, engraved, and struck with the

tugra of Sultan Ahmed III (r. 1703-1730 c.e.) The long, lightly-curved and fullered blade with distinct

yelman or back edge.Beginning of the 18th century.

Tomek, a question for you on the strips of metal on the wooden grip:

How are they fastened? Are there little rivets or do you use a glue?

Tomek, I love that handle. Very nice recreation of a fabulous piece! Blade shape is awesome and terrifying perhaps. Very nice to see.

Brian, the original saber has little rivets, but a colleague wants a smooth handle.
He will not destroy the leather glove. It is his wish.
I did glue.

Beautifully accomplished, TK, every aspect !

I really like the personality of the curved blade, and that it widens ever so slightly as you
get to the chopping business-end. I wonder if other makers / smiths would include that
small detail at the beginning of the yelmen ( does it have a particular name ? ) ... which
seems a fairly consistent characteristic of these sabers ...

What a treasure. Just fantastic. B-)

Rękojeść (hilt)
- głowica or kapturek (pommel)
- fartuch or warkocz kapturka (backstrap)
- trzon (grip)
- jelec (cross-guard or quillon)
- kabłąk (knuckle-bow)
- wąsy (langets)
- paluch (thumb-ring)
- obłęk (side-ring)
Głownia (blade)
- ostrze (edge)
- tylec (spine)
- płaz (flat)
- strudzina or bruzda (fuller or ridge)
- młotek (martle)
- pióro (false edge or yelmen)

Blade can be divided into three parts:
- zastawa (forte)
- moc (literally it means power or force in Polish)
- sztych (foible)
