|
|
Hello,
I'm trying to find out what the dimensions are of the original coppergate helmet from Jorvik.
Width, height etc.
Most of the reproductions seem excessively large (like the GDFB version, it's huge!).
So if anyone knows this, would be much appreciated!
Cheers!

If nobody else answers you beforehand, I'll let you know after Christmas. I have Tweedle's book and 1:1 drawings for the helmet.

Samuel,
Start with the basics.
Radius across the helmet bowl (side to side) is 180mm
Radius across the helmet bowl (front to back) is 223mm
Height from top of the bowl to the bottom (excluding the cheek pieces) is 187mm
What other dimension s are you interested in?
