29. (a.) English rapier, the blade dated 1634. The hilt is steel, with the pommel and quillon terminals each in the form of a woman's head. The cup guard is chiselled with foliage patterns and cherubs. The blade, which is not that originally fitted to the hilt, is inscribed
JOHAN KINNDT HOUNSLOE 1634. (cf, Pl. 28c). Length - 105.4 cms. Inventory no. IX-982.
