$1500? Whoa! This sword is quite expensive.

I don't think it is too expensive for the work and quality. The scabbard is very nice and I know the sword is too. It is more than a lot of weapons someone can buy, but this is hand worked, much better researched and a quality scabbard that many things out there do not have. Also the engraving on the blade looks awesome.
I would be tempted Maciej, it's very nice. But I have something else I want to save up for right now. This is a great classic sword. I wish I could have it!

Little price drop - now is $1400
thank you J. Nicolaysen. yes, I would say it is maybe not cheap but notice that we have here whole set with sword, scabbard and belt - all very good fitted. I just know this sword and it is worth this in my opinion.
very important thing is - this is not mass-production item but one-and-only unique sword.
but - if someone is really interested - can make an offer with the best price - I will consider this of course

Ridiculous statement. Have you ever commissioned a sword of this quality? Likely not, if you had you would know that a sword with inlay and a scabbard for $1500 is a very good price.

In fact, I consider this price to be too low if anything! For such a sword plus scabbard, 1500$ is a bargain.
Great work! I hope you find a buyer who appreciates it!

Hi Maciej,
I can't tell but is that inlay or an inscription on the blade.
BTW: I also agree that this is a good price.

It seems a good price to me, especially when you consider that the scabbard is part of the package.

If I had an extra $1500 lying around this sword would already be mine and I'd consider it a bargain. Well done.

I admire how many folks joined the bandwagon to defend the pricing of this sword, which seems perfectly fair... But I'd like to point out that what Shahril said is that the sword is "quite expensive.". He did not say that it was "too expensive," though perhaps it was implied in his statement... I would not go so far as to assume that, though!
I would also call this an expensive sword. Lots of things that are worthwhile can be expensive.

I for one would hate to see the discission of this fine piece degenerate into an argument over pricing and perceived worth, rather than the sword itself.

well, thank you guys for all your comments and valuable opinions - especially from other noted craftsmen.
actually I must say that I agree with Patrick Kelly words - I would rather prefer to discuss about the sword and craftsmanship on the forum - and about the prices maybe in private messages - it will be more elegantly at this case...

Well said. It is a lovely piece and I was wondering about the blade decoration; it is hard to see in the photos, but is it inlaid, etched or engraved/cut? Whatever it is very well done.

That's certainly the way I see it, too. It's in bad taste to debate pricing for custom items in public. There are of course no forum rules prohibiting that type of posting, but one would hope that common courtesy might govern it instead.
